Southwest Alaska has many gems when it comes to rivers to
fish. A favorite is the Aniak river.
This trip offers high quality wilderness on a river with
exceptional salmon fishing in particular for those interested in King and
Silver salmon angling. Rainbow trout average 15-24 inches and are
abundant, arctic char, grayling, northern pike are also available. The
Aniak offers great scenery, wildlife is plentiful and the best rainbow &
char fishing is in late summer. Weather can effect the rivers
fish-ability and travel on this Alaska river should only be attempted with a
guide or by experienced outdoors enthusiasts.
For over a decade
Alaska Rainbow Adventures
has been offering week long float trips on the Togiak river by permit
from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. There are only two permits
allowed to operate floats on this extremely scenic waterway in western
Alaska. The fishing is some of the best in the world for king and
silver salmon, Arctic Char, Dolly Varden, Grayling and Trophy Rainbows
are plentiful as well.
